Victorinox Rescue Tool

in Product-review

Victorinox is a very green and ethical company so much that requires every employee who works at the company to watch "Al Gore's film the inconvenient truth". Their factory is designed to only take up as much power as a normal 4 bedroom family home! They used a closed water loop system which consist 92% of the heat requirements of the factory along with 120 apartments situated near the factory. The staffs bike their way to the factory as influenced by the Al gore film which focuses on green technology.

Quality is at the forefront of Victorinox because they focus on quality control processes since 1884. Today these are of course more advanced and start with a quality control inspection of any material that comes into the factory to produce these award-winning Multi-tools. Victorinox do the similar process if any of the OEM parts will be use to produce any of the Swiss army knives. Whilst on the factory, they follow many processes to make sure that there is quality throughout the manufacturing process. Lastly, once completed there is a quality control inspection on completed items.

Some history about the Victorinox brand:

  • As far back as 1897 they patented their pocket knives.
  • 1945 after the Second World War the American army sold off a lot of their Swiss army knives and they were a common sight in second-hand stores. They were then called the Swiss army knives and became known in the English-speaking world.
  • In 2001 a flagship store opened in New York in the US where not only Swiss army knives but kitchen knives, time pieces and travel gear are also on display.
  • In 2007, they won the most prestigious knife award from among 77 knives from 34 exhibitors and 9 countries. This is the IWA international knife award.
